Rutland Arms Hotel

The Rutland is the only hotel actually in Bakewell.
It was featured on the Ch.5 series 'The Hotel Inspector' where the previous owner came across as a 'bit of a character!'.
Jane Austen probably stayed here along with other notables of the day as Chatsworth is just up the road and this hotel goes back to that time and had a stables.
I'd like to say its a fabulous hotel and from the outside with its superb position it looks fantastic and very grand, but it could be much better.
The hotel has recently undergone new ownership so there is hope.
