Hyde Park rush hour

I met Fred after work and walked to the Royal Geographical Society via Piccadilly and Hyde Park. It was a really lovely sunset. The little lights on the blip are cyclists.

Tonight, we were shown 11 films as part of the Kendal Mountain Film Festival. We went last year and it was fab. This year's films were just as good. One film, Point of No Return, was particularly shocking, since the start of the film was so full of optimism. The other film that sticks in my mind is that of The Swiss Machine - Alpinist Ueli Steck completing the ascent of the Eiger in 2 hours 47 minutes. The audience watched it with many grimaces and nervous laughs. For brilliant cinematography, Wild Water was amazing.

Other films:
Send It Sistah
MedeoZ - one for the blippers - a photographer seeks to capture six mountain sports in one shot
Meltdown in Tibet - one man's take on the politics of water in Tibet
Wild Swim - Wordsworth
The Argentine Project - exploring the northern tip of Argentina's Andes by mountainbike
