Deepsyke Forest

A forest walk today as it has been dry for a long time so the paths are not too hazardous. At least that's what we thought, but Troi, the greyhound, still managed to sink up knees in mud.
The forest is mainly evergreens and was planted when there were tax advantages attached to owning such a place. Needless to say these have long disappeared and the forest has changed hands at least twice since then. Hardly any maintenance is done anymore but it remains a heaven for dogwalkers. You can see the Pentland Hills in the distance.
