My Life Is Not Average

Spoons

In the book I'm currently reading ("Shades of Grey", Jasper Fforde), people are not allowed to make any new spoons.

There's quite a lot of other really tedious and annoying "Rules" that the characters must follow as well. If we're not careful, we'll end up trapped by ridiculous rules and laws ourselves, in the real world.

I mean, what with the EU trying to make us all "equal" by making it illegal to charge men more for car insurance (which will benefit the most high-risk drivers - young men - and be detrimental to everyone else), we're going to get ourselves stuck in some gloopy mess of rules if we don't act soon. Do people not realise that quite often, discrimination actually makes things more fair?
