Layers

Visited the Science Museum today and saw this beauty, thought i'd share it with you blippers.

With 213 layers, averaging 6mm thick, and each layer made from 10 separate pieces, the object comprises more than 2000 individual parts. The only way to achieve this goal was to use computer technology to develop and manage the engineering and fabrication of the layers.
