Japanese Magnolia

A bud from a Japanese Magnolia or 'Tulip Tree' in my yard after a spring shower. Originally a small bush indiginous to China, this beauty, Magnolia liliiflora, was introduced to English speaking countries after the Jananese genetically altered it to be a stronger plant, worthy of being a garden center piece.
