Now amalgamated into a larger unit, The Royal Welsh (Welch) Fusiliers are the oldest regiment in Wales. Lots of my relatives joined in the past (along with the likes of Seigfried Sassoon, Robert Graves and other notables), during and in-between wars. This badge belonged to one that didn't make it home. I came across it while rummaging for pics of me when I was a kid to compare with Jr and H2. It stopped me in my tracks and sent a shiver down my spine.

I hope my boys never have to fight.
