A Jay takes flight

As I got up to make tea before my bath this morning, I saw one of the two Jays that seem to have take up residence locally. It was searching for food on the ground, which we put out regularly (or to be honest, Helena put out). By the time I found and fired up the camera when I snapped it, it had just taken off to fly off and sit in a nearby ash tree. Not a great shot, but I am glad I have recorded it.

This is heavily cropped, but the 50mm has done well from twenty yards away and from the top window of the house.
