FEAST2011 - celebration of Scottish Regional Food

as demonstrated by a charming chef, Yogesh Utekar all the way from Mumbai - where he appears on TV! The audience was particularly engaged with Yogesh and keen to get cooking tips. Can you almost smell the lamb gohst and parathas?

It took place at Jewel & Esk College in Edinburgh. A programme of chef's demonstrations ran all day, there were master classes in cheese, wine and whisky and probably my favourite, lots of lovely dishes prepared by the students reflecting dishes from all over Scotland. I really enjoyed chatting to them and finding out how many were taking a practical module in food as part of their degree at Queen Margaret College in subjects such as International Hospitality, Marketing etc.

Unfortunately, the stands for a mini Farmers' Market where tucked out of the way, so it was a slow day for them.

The previous night, there was a fund raising dinner hosted by Albert Roux which raised £14,000!
