A Day of Discovery

Another fine spring day spent mostly outside gardening.

You never know when you're working in our garden what long-lost objects are going to emerge from the soil while you're digging, or just turn up under some long-overgrown foliage.

Today brought two discoveries - the rusty head and part of the rotting handle of a claw hammer, and a fleur-de-lys-like object that we think is part of an old hand fork.

We photographed them together in the spring sunshine, on the lid of our Aberdeenshire Council paper recycling bin.
