A friend of ours is an excellent gardener - a very creative and resourceful one too.

I showed her my dad's old gardening book - Practical Gardening and Food Production in Pictures (snappy title) - and she was fascinated how gardening had changed since the mid 20th century. So fascinated that she sourced a copy for herself through abebooks.co.uk.

This is her book which still retains the original dust jacket. I don't remember my dad smoking a pipe though...
