Old Knik River Bridge

Life is like this bridge.

There is something in the distance, but it is not yet quite appearent.

Some have taken this journey before you, but they may not be here to assist you.

Some pathways have been abandonded, for what? Something better?

Your path may have been used by many. But is it still the best way for you?

The Old Knik River Bridge was once the only byway from Palmer and Wasilla in the north to Anchorage in the south. Now, still standing beside the newer, but ugly, road-on-stilts bridge, it is a reminder for some of an earlier time, a more simple time during the early discovery and colonization of the Matanuska Valley of south central Alaska.
