Hide Away Folk Family

Why does the sun shine?

When planning campus in the 60s, Sir Basil Spence worked with renowned landscape architect Dame Sylvia Crowe. The layout was designed to retain all the main tree belts across the downland site.

The siting of specific buildings accommodated the existing planting - the Meeting House for example is thus surrounded by these magnificent deciduous trees (whose exact species I am ashamed to say I don't know)

Brilliant light on campus today means the outline of these trees and their manifold branches stand out starkly against the blue sky.

I felt that their inherent grandeur would be best drawn out by a heavy black and white treatment. And this is the result.
