Crash

Got stuck behind an accident on the A1 this morning. The flow of traffic came to a crawl, and as the emergency vehicles started to thread their way through the lines of cars, I went from thinking "roadworks" to "accident".

I took this shot just after the lanes of traffic had been merged into one, and we were sitting waiting to move forward again. I think the guy in the car behind the fire engine was some kind of paramedic: as I sat there dreading that moment when you file past an accident, he just got his gear on and got on with helping people.

I really hope everyone involved wasn't too badly hurt.
