Storm approaching

A very long day today. Woke up at 5.30am so that I could get into the port of Piraeus in time for the 7.20 ferry to the nearby island of Aegina. A full day of theory, practical exercises and an examination at the end for the marine short radio course. A very interesting course and I am particularly happy as I successfully passed the examination.

For some days now there were reports of a severe storm approaching so we hurried to catch the ferry back to Piraeus as we were afraid that it will soon be canceled due to the weather, already cold and with the wind starting to pick up. As it turned out we made back it just in time. Already it had started snowing in Athens and a few of the taxis refused to take us, afraid that they weren't going to be able to approach the area where my friend lived. Still all went ok in the end, got home, exhausted but happy that the day was over.
