Xenophobia

Each Saturday it is my misfortune to buy the Daily Express for my ageing mother-in-law. I've tried to point out to her that the 'newspaper' is no longer what it once was and has descended to a poisonous xenophobic Little Englander stance which gives succour to knuckle-dragging racists.

Oh, and carries blatant advertisements for the Daily Express owner Richard Desmond's Channel 5 TV disguised as informative and colourful editorial spreads.

However life-long habits die hard and mum-in-law says she likes the TV guide and anyway she only does the puzzles.

Sigh.

PS And WTF is the royal crest doing at the head of the leader page?
