Calanais - The Sacred Stones

Were back at home now after our weekend away on Na h-Eileanan Siar and what a great time we had.

So after all our adventures and farewells to our friends we managed to squeeze in a visit to the standing stone circles at Callanish before heading to the ferry.

They are really an amazing sight sitting on a hill overlooking Loch Roag on the west side of the Island. The Celtic cross shape can be seen on the horizon as you approach from any direction.

Although I've been many times, they are still relatively unknown but well worth a visit. Here's some more info.
