Reclaiming Clay!

Once again, Terry decided to tackle the piles of clay trimmings etc., and turn them back into viable clay for more pots to be made! It's a yucky job, and one which i have refused to do - preferring to pitch the old stuff down a hill at my old studio....i actually had 3 different places to discard unusable clay and fired stuff that was no good.....we did live in the country and there was lots of space....and it is after all, part of the earth in some way! Anyway, i am grateful to Terry for taking on this job....hopefully he'll get these bags down before the clay is too hard to be used!

Just to be clear....these hanging objects (old jean legs) are filled with sloppy, wet clay....and they will hang here for about a week, to dry slowly....just as long as we don't forget to take them down when the kiln is turned on, which is how the last batch got way too dry!!!

This image may change later....just awaiting the arrival of a small tribe of friends who are coming here for an evening of music, food and wine....maybe even a bit of dancing....to celebrate my belated birthday.....i'm very excited!!! There will be chocolate cake and ice cream.....yeah!!!

Edit....it's now after 10 pm....and most folks have left...we had a wonderful afternoon/evening....music courtesy of Scott, Terry, Matte, Katie and Brook....and there was even some wild dancing to some old 80's stuff and good old Peter Gabriel .... lots of yummy food, and great fun.....i feel totally satisfied!
