Our friends' fox red labrador came with us for a walk round Morden Bog in Wareham Forest. He's a young dog - 10 months - and has enviable energy. He had just been for a swim and posed for a millisecond before bounding over and covering me in mud and water.

I tried to take a picture of a pair of brimstone butterflies that were engaged in frantic courtship, dancing round each other at high speed. They didn't settle so I tried - optimistically - to catch them in flight. When I looked at it at home I noticed the moon behind them.
