Helter-skelter

By Juli

No, it's not a lovely chalk grassland meadow.

Well, it's sort of 'chalk grassland' - it's our lawn! We hadn't mowed it till yesterday because a) we had lots of bulbs coming up in it and b) we were too lazy busy. I made my husband leave a patch of these cuckoo flowers (lady's smock) because orange tip butterflies lay their eggs on them and I've seen loads of them over the past few days. Turns out, though, that the wasps like them even better. We are now (unofficially) a wildlife sanctuary, ha, ha!

Early blip today as we are spending the first day of the Easter holidays waiting in for deliveries and the boiler repairman. Hopefully I can make it up to the kids tomorrow!
