A ferry at the Uig terminal

Yesterday it was warm bright and hazy. Today it is comparatively cold, showery and windy. Oh, the sun is warm when it shines but one benefits from being somewhere sheltered.

As we approached Uig so we were passed by a long stream of traffic travelling in the opposite direction, vehicles that had just off-loaded from this ferry from the Outer Isles. In many ways I envy them their freedom of travel. We have but one day off a week and our travel is limited by time.

Having said this it is a pleasure to be out and about. We took a walk up a wooded valley where we discovered a large double waterfall that we previously never knew existed. I shall have to return with my tripod to do it justice.

Watching the comings and goings at the pier always gives me pleasure. Whilst we were there we also called in at the Uig Brewery shop to purchase a case of Hebridean Gold, a lovely golden ale made from porridge oats. We also bought a couple of ice-creams and sat in the van whilst we consumed them.

Now we are back home I think I will take a wee nap before we go out to dine later. So much for another day off.
