AT SAN MARTINO IN FREDDANA

I didn't do a decent ponce today, only one camera and with the wrong lens, at that.

A bit of an emergency. It's our guests last day. This is the church in San Martino which dates back to the 11th Century and is just off the old Roman Road. It has a newer facade, probably early 1800s. Hill churches are closing all around and so this church is enjoying a new surge in popularity. Those who go can be sure of the same priest at every mass. There is parking space and no tiers of steps to climb. It is becoming so popular that repairs are going on to the priest's quarters at the right of the picture, which are attached to the church, and once the dwelling place for monks. It's a massive amount of space for one priest but I dare say the ground floor is used for other purposes.

For the record: +17 C Cloudy with sun. Humidity 68%. Rain due tomorrow.
