George Carlin live at the Beacon Theater, NYC

I was privileged to see one of the all-time great comedians, George Carlin, live in his hometown of New York City in 2005. It was a dazzling performance with as much social criticism as standup, and was filmed for a live HBO special called Life Is Worth Losing. You can see an excerpt here. Carlin died in June 2008 but he left an extraordinary legacy of wisdom behind him in his audio and video recordings and numerous books.
