Up on the roof

Pair of oyster catchers return to the roof at my work place every year, they nest in the gutter, along come the seagulls & pinch the eggs ;-(, this has been going on for years, poor things will they never learn ? I will give these eggs a week or less, be great if they hatched though :-?
