Harley's for Oldies

This is Great Nana. She is about to turn 96. For her 95th birthday we organised a Harley ride and it rained heavily so this is the repeat day, almost a year later. She was so excited she couldnt sleep last night!
She went for a "hoon" out in the countryside at 100km per hour, and toured around the local area. She was only disappointed to not have the strength to drive it herself. When it was all over she then asked if the driver could just drop her down the road, to her lunch appointment, as well. She was I think, not satisfied enough people had seen her!

When the bike arrived in the retirement village all the local old boys were twitching their curtains. When he came back and went inside, leaving the bike unattended we went out to find a little group of old fellas with their walking frames, surrounding the bike, telling their tales of cop pursuits and contesting who had been the biggest tear-away and got the most speeding tickets when they were young on their own bikes.

This particular bike is a commermorative special edition for the 911 Fire Fighters. There is a matching blue one for the Police. It is made especially and there are only 2 of them in New Zealand which were both brought in by this owner. He sold one to another fireman. The legend goes that you should only own one if you have been a fireman yourself. This bike is dedicated to a Chief Fireman in NZ. It is pristine and perfectly polished. I had trouble taking photos as I kept getting reflections of myself in the paint and chrome. So far it has only done 100miles, and I think old Nana helped put another 20 on the clock today. I have some amazing photos of the bike but in the end it was all about Nana so this is the blip choice of the day. I have loaded the Black and white version as there were too many colours in their clothing and distractions from her face.
Fantastic experience.
