Winchelsea

(Backblip)

"Modern" in Winchelsea seems to be anything built in the 18th century or later, and so the 18th century pub where we had lunch counts as new (hence the name, The New Inn). :P This place really is a photography dream. Chocked full of preserved buildings. And it's surrounded by some of the flattest land I've ever seen... old sea bed basically. It's like visiting Holland!

Visited St. Thomas' Church while we were here which was interesting. According to some tour info we got there, two tsunamis wiped out old Winchelsea before it moved to the hill... how topical!
