Lafarge Mastercrete awaiting use on and Industrial site. These days the bagsa are 25 kgs in weight rather than the original 50 kgs. Health and safety deemed the larger bags unsafe to be lifted by individuals. Quite right too!

I'm not sure the rerason for the bright colour other than my enhancing it some. In this stack there was probably some twelve tonnes in weight; metric tonnes that is.

The Limestone is crushed to a very fine powder, then heated to an extreme temperature and recrushed to a fine powder again. The product then crystalizes when water is added. Hey presto, when mixed with aggregate you either get Mortar or Concrete depending on the aggregate used.
