Swimming Against The Tide

High tide, the sea crashing against the rocks, the sound of pebble beach being dragged backwards after each wave!

How wonderful it is to be by the sea. We're on our annual spring time trip to Aberystwyth, where we stay in the same room at the same hotel every year! You can find the start of last year's trip here!

In my current addled state it took me about 3 hours to pack a simple bag for a couple of nights. Of course, packing wasn't assisted by the help of five cats (who have been left with multiple litter boxes and bowlfuls of crunchies all over the house and will be fine until we get home) including Smudge who did a wee on the floor for us!

Much as we love them, it has been rather nice to be able to lie around and not be clawed at constantly. We've also been able to eat supper in peace, which is quite a novelty! Tomorrow we'll get up and be cooked a fine breakfast, then we'll pootle round town, as we did this afternoon, and walk along the sea front, and stare at the waves.

It always does us such good coming here. We've been almost every year since we were married. Had we known what the employment situation was going to be this year we might not have come, but since it was all booked and paid for and since it does us SO much good, we decided to come anyway. It's wonderful!

And the hotel has free wi-fi, so blipping is easy with the help of the netbook!

If anywhere will be the place where I can sort my life and head out then it'll be here. We almost always make plans, regroup, and make decisions about what needs to be done while we are here!

We also eat well - Chinese takeaway tonight! Yummy!
