Must try harder....

Oh what to choose....?

I had a veritable smorgasbord of photos to choose from today starting with our first Duck of the year on the pond. The Duck, for it was a she, was a young female who was very light brown as opposed to the usual earthy brown you see on Mallards and didn't have a developed wing bar as on adults.

I also had the choice of photos of our Marsh Marigold which has started flowering and of the Gatehouse for Ramsey Abbey (in Cambridgeshire) and some shots of the fabulous Ramsey College which was originally a Monastery/Convent until it was bought into Private hands until 1937. In 1937 the lady of the house died at the age of 29 and the house was donated as a school which became Ramsey Grammar School and then merged with a neighbouring school in 2006 to become Ramsey College.

The photo I eventually chose is that of the Church (former Abbey Church?) which is set across a picturesque green. From the viewpoint to the right is the Gatehouse, behind is the Golf Course and Bowls club and to the left of the Church is a lovely village pond.

I've never visited Ramsey before today and found it to be a lovely, dare I say 'quaint' village with a fabulous High Street full of higgledy-piggledey, old and mismatched building styles and classic village set pieces such as the Church, Green, Bowls Club, Pond and oh did I mention the thumping great Wind Turbine...? There may be more to come...
