Life in Newburgh on Ythan

By Talpa

A bright flower for a dull day.

Another grey and cold day here on the banks of the Ythan and so I have resorted to the garden for a touch of colour. A pretty little plant, but sadly I don't know what species it is as we didn't plant it. A present from the skies!

I have since been informed by richtoller that Mrs RT has successfully identified the flower as an Erythronium, commonly known as the Dog's-tooth violet or trout lily. A quick Google suggests to me that it is a cultivar called Erythronium Pagoda. Thank you Mrs RT!
