Touch the sky

"Phoenix Rising from the Ashes" is a large statue in Woodruff Park, across the street from the loft. I've tried to photograph her several times, with varying degrees of success, but somehow she's just never made the cut for Blip before.

At maybe 20 ft. tall, she's a pretty impressive slab of bronze, and represents the symbol of the city - the mythological Phoenix.

Why the Phoenix, you ask? Well, the city was burned to the ground during the American Civil War (in 1864), and then rose again from its ashes.
