split second stare down

a week ago i could have said, "do you see elmo in the camera?" and he would have looked.

a week ago, i could have said, "don't look at the camera!" and he totally would have looked.

but my almost two year old who has recently mastered the art of being difficult wanted nothing to do with anything i wanted him to do.

i have no idea how i finally got him to look. it doesn't really matter how because surely that technique would have been quickly outdated as well.
