Time for tea

A special request from Anth who wanted to see what my self-confessed tea snobbery entails. :-P

I can't really drink "normal" tea except under duress (so as not to appear rude). The only time I really drink it is at sporting events where they serve a liquid which is almost, but not quite, entirely unlike tea. So is therefore drinkable.

This particular tea (in the bamboo box) is a green tea called Gunpowder, so called as the little rolled up leaves look a lot like balls of gunpowder. Green tea is more delicate than black tea so you add the water off the boil and not boiling. Stir the leaves and brew lightly (I brew for 3 minutes). It tastes much better when poured into a shallow cup as shown here as it means the tea is at the perfect temperature for drinking. You never put milk or sugar into green tea but a little honey can be added.

It is best enjoyed in a sunny garden whilst admiring all the flowers you have grown, but is a delight at any time.
