Don't Look Back

Reflections on Thirlmere

Had a wonderful day today. We had promised the kids a trip to Ambleside to see the rescue owls that we met in Kendal (2 children were missing on Wednesday so didn't get to see them). The day started off a bit overcast, but the sun came out in the afternoon. The kids thoroughly enjoyed holding and stroking the owls and looking round the garden centre. Dawn was very happy because she came away with two orchids (her favourite). We went and picked some Grasmere gingerbread up on the way back and then spent the rest of the afternoon at the back of Thirlmere taking pictures and throwing sticks and stones in the water for the dogs (so they were very happy too, especially Tai). Last stop was St John's in the Vale church (1st time I have been) to take some more pictures (although I had to borrow Dawn's camera because by this point I had two full memory cards). Then home for tea.
