Madrid-Barajas Airport

I didn't get back to photograph this amazing building at night. Which would have been good.

Here are a few facts.

Terminal 4 designed by Antonio Lamela and Richard Rogers (winning team of the 2006 Stirling Prize), inaugurated on February 5, 2006. One of the world's largest airport terminals in terms of area, with 760,000square meters in separate structures. It consists of a main building, T4 (470,000 square metres), and a satellite building, T4S (290,000 square metres), which are approximately 2.5 km apart.

Passengers travel around by train with no driver! A bit disconcerting but I suppose this is the future.

Apparently photography is not allowed in the airport - according to the policeman who stopped me! There were plenty of people taking photos of each other!

I hope you can tell by the processing that I am back home. Lovely holiday and many thanks to all you lovely blippers who have been commenting as it has been going on.
