The Sacred Cup

There are two things that keep this country from freezing: Coffee and anti-freeze. Tim Hortons (named after an ex-Canadian hockey great) is owned by an American company (Wendy's). It's a Canadian cultural phenomenon. The little and often not so little coffee shops are everywhere. The Canadian military in Afghanistan is enjoying the coffee right on their bases. The brand is preceived as Canadian as hockey.
The 'scared' cups, however, are everywhere along streets, roads and highways. They are not bio-degradable/recyclable.
"They are easily the No. 1 recognizable item of litter in the country."

So, why are Canadians so addicted to Tim Hortons coffee?
A hint of vanilla.
