Industrial Buddism

A week or so ago I saw a man cutting down a lamp post with a chainsaw, outside where I work. I should have stopped. I should have taken a photo. A small regret.

So, when I saw the above I fought traffic to park my car, walked a short distance and started waving my phone round like a pillock.

The building is Christchurch's Buddist Temple, on Riccarton Road. What caught my eye was that the reel (shown side on, on the truck) was the same colour and texture as the tiles on the Temple. As if they belonged together.

A six foot high prayer wheel spinning to fix a small part of a fractured city.

By the way - my first blip.
