'Two out of three ain't bad'

Headed to the west end of Edinburgh's New Town to meet a colleague this afternoon and took the opportunity to photograph one of Scotland's most impressive ecclesiastical buildings - the neo-Gothic St Mary's Episcopal Cathedral. Built in 1879, its three spires (just the smaller two pictured here!) dominate this part of the capital from various vantage points around the city.

There's a nice aerial photo here of the Cathedral soaring above the well-ordered avenues, crescents and circuses of the New Town.
