Bertinoro

We drove to this beautiful hillside village of Bertinoro in Romagna for Sunday lunch. I felt like I was in a film, it's the kind of place I'd only ever seen on the big screen before. For me it represented quintessential Italy...narrow, windy, cobble-stoned streets, old ladies sweeping the dust off the streets with brooms, locals congregating in the main square in front of the town hall, a random group of German cyclists...olive branches being collected for Psalm Sunday...

We had a wonderful lunch in Osteria L'Alternativa, highly recommended if you happen to go to Bertinoro!

After that we headed on to visit the Republic of San Marino, which was beautiful but filled with tourists going shopping!
