A day at the park

It's spring break, and a friend and I took the kids to Springs Preserve, a nature sanctuary tucked in the middle of Las Vegas.

This turtle was smaller than his counterpart, but much more aggressive. I'm pretty sure the little one ate 90% of the leaves on this branch, while daring the big one to come and try to take one from him.
