Patience

Not the finest wild-life photo, but a good end to the day.

The hedgehog returns.

We used to have a hedgehog visit us very evening, in the warm evenings we would hear him (or her, never got that close) snuffling around near one of the back doors. Then, early last year we had lots of reconstruction work done in the garden and our hedgehog abandoned us. But a week ago I noticed that one of the old hedgehog pathways at the end of the garden had been re-dug and I've been watching for him off and on. Finally he's put in an appearance, hopefully not the last of the year - I'm delighted that he's returned.

[Update: Shortly after I took this picture, the subject was spotted disappearing down the garden at high speed - didn't realise h'hogs were capable of such a dramatic turn of speed].
