More Antiques Roadshow

So, today the Antiques Roadshow actually happened at work. When we arrived at the main building this morning there was already a queue of about 35m (the distance from the doors to the bottom of Old Joe), and during most of the day it was at least the same length, if not longer. Luckily the bright sparks at the Beeb had arranged for a barbecue stand to be on site, selling bacon butties and bagels to the waiting masses (talk about a captive market!)

I managed to get in to the upper gallery of the Great Hall twice during the day to get some photos - was hoping for Fiona Bruce's eyebrow, but she was proving very shy. Instead I got this overhead shot of people having one of their precious artefacts assessed and valued. A moment later the woman on the right took out a pen and paper and wrote some stuff down - I couldn't tell how many zeros.

Also, overheard in the ladies at lunchtime: I can't believe we queued for all that time for just two minutes of chat!

That's showbiz, ladies!
