NEPAL TRIP 2011:Day 4: First Day Trekking

Day Four: Ulleri, Nepal

After just arriving in Nepal the day before it was time for the team to move again. I will give the basic itinerary for the day then explain it below:

Kathmandu- Pokahara (Air)
Pokhara- Naya Pul (Bus)
Naya Pul- Ulleri (Trekking)

We got up very early and watched the sun come up over the already smoggy Kathmandu. I snapped a good shot. After that we loaded our selves into a mini bus and enjoyed the not so crowded streets of Kathmandu early in the morning. We were headed for the domestic departures area of Tribhuvan International Airport where we would board a Buddha air flight bound for Pokhara "The most beautiful city in Nepal,"

Pokhara is very different that the much larger Kathmandu. Its still a city but its much more quiet. It has a very relaxed feel especially along the lakeside where I snapped some more pictures including some more of the team. We were eating an awesome brekfast at a restraund along the lakeside. Here is Ben a Canon shooter which is grounds to respect anyone!

After that we took a bus out of Pokhara on the windy roads towards Naya Pul which is where the road ends and trekking begins. It is also important to note that before we got on the bus we met out awesome guide Maila from GRG's Adventure Kayaking who was to take us on our seven day trek. If you are planning on going to Nepal and need any adventures planned Maila who owns GRG's is your man. He and his team will make sure your experience is awesome.

Today the altitude gain wasn't huge, we started at about 1200M and got to just short of 2000M with a lot of up and downs in between.

I snapped this shot just after trekking out of Naya Pul, its of some pots that I belive are used for cooking a specific dish. I like the image because of the leading lines created by the repeating pots.

At the end of the day we finished with a steep climb into Ulleri where we had an awesome dinner and warm (sort of) showers. An awesome day!
