Swiss Pine

This Swiss Pine, Pinus cembra, has lived quite happily for a number of years in a large pot beside our house.

It doesn't even seem to mind a month spent inside our house each winter, where it has served for some years as our Christmas Tree!

Now, however, it is time for its annual growth spurt.

Maybe some time it will have to be planted out in the garden - or we might have to buy a larger pot! - but for now this slow-growing pine seems quite happy where it is.
