Half Niddrie

Ok, it's more like a three quarter Niddrie.

For several years now I've known the implement of choice for people partaking in riots or other forms of civil disobedience as a 'Half Niddrie'. I'd always kind of assumed that it was an Edinburgh coloquialism perhaps alluding to the Niddrie riots of the 80s. It turns out I was being a bit naive, coming from the west side of the city I was completely unaware of the Niddrie brickworks and, until now, had never actually seen or been aware of the existence of a Niddrie brick.

This specimen was in Sam and Alex's garden, no idea what plans they have for it but I'll let you know if they get up to any civil disobedience.
