and thus started our band/orchestra trip to atlanta, ga!
school was torturous to get through for us on this particular day. the hours were passing by at the slowest pace EVER, the outside sun pulling at our heartstrings. it was extremely painful to sit through class after class...

as soon as the last class of the day was over, my upperclassman friend and i -- who were fooling around all that hour singing "who cares, we're outta here!" -- bolted out and headed straight for the band room to grab our things and load onto buses.

then started our 7-hour busride down to lexington, kt, where we were to stay for the night since we needed to attend a clinic in the morning. at our first rest stop, the sun was bright, the setting great, and the atmosphere lively. we met up with the orchestra kids, evidently shown above, and had some fun, running around and setting lose.

although the ride was long and often so crazy that it was obnoxious, it was a fun one, and amazing views like these made it all worth it.
