Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

The Aquarium

It's our regular Fiona monday - but no face today (due to several in the last week. :-)) Yet ANOTHER trip to the Aquarium (it's only 10 minutes away, we're members, she loves it and it's an "outing" especially when it's raining, like today!) so here's one of my favorite occupants, the oyster catcher . We have these on our island beach sometimes, but I can ALWAYS see them here. And that's little Fiona with the big kids watching the diver in the huge tank. The background is reflections on the tidepools for touching...
But the WOW at the Aquarium for me today was the art exhibit! There is a changing art exhibit always dealing with marine life, of course. I hadn't seen these stunningly beautiful large aerial photographs by conservation photographer Daniel Beltra before. He is a Spanish photographer living in Seattle who has won all sorts of awards for his conservation photos, (including one from Prince Charles, who of course is a big Rain forest conservationist, ....) of rainforest destruction and now these, of the 1 year old Gulf of Mexico oil spill. They were breathtaking, and if you don't know him or this photography I suggest you look here.
