The Wall

I'm in Plains, tonight - a very small town in south Georgia.

The hometown of former US President Jimmy Carter, and the Peanut capitol of the universe, it's a place where even the one local gas station closes at 6 pm.

We're staying in the town's one hotel - a beautiful old building that I'm told was once a funeral home. There are only seven rooms, and they're each decorated and furnished in the style of a decade from the 20's to the 80's (I'm in the 50's). They're also huge - each room is about the size of the loft where I live in Atlanta - and they have these beautiful old exposed-brick walls, as you can see above.

All in all, a very nice place to spend a couple of nights.
