The solution?

Erm....no! Broadband issues continue, so in a bid to try to resolve any issues at our end, we bought a new router. Surely this modern device would be able to solve all local issues and offer much better performance than the 6/7/8? year old device we've been using. And the answer....no. The attentive viewer/reader will be able to spot the small orange (flashing) icon near the bottom of the router. This signifies no broadband/faulty broadband line. So, straight on the phone to Orange, almost smugly, to inform the good folks on Customer Service that with a brand new router, filter and cable I'm being told there is no broadband and that the issue is not, therefore a local one. So, another line check reveals the line is indeed dropping (same as they found yesterday) and therefore the issue is being escalated. I should receive a text in 24-48hrs re progress and in the meantime avoid using the phone. Hmmm....not great.

Must - be - fixed - by - Thursday!!!
