Black sheep, the shepherd has the right to walk his sheep along the main road, as it used to be the farm track many years ago. He also has the right to let his sheep graze on any piece of ground that he thinks is suitable, hence the sheep are in the farmers field, which has just had its crop of broad beans removed and they are eating the left over stalks.
